FROM THE SOUTH AUSTRALIA DIVISION PRESIDENT

Entries for the 2008 South Australian Engineering Excellence Awards are now open.

The Engineering Excellence Awards recognise the highest level of achievement in the engineering field. They provide peer recognition of outstanding engineering work, be it a large or small project.

As well as identifying the leaders within the engineering profession, the Awards provide an opportunity to showcase and celebrate the invaluable contribution the engineering profession makes to the community.

This entry form has been produced to assist you in preparing a submission to recognise the outstanding achievements made by you and your team. It provides a definition of the award categories and outlines the key criteria and judging requirements. As always, staff within the Division Office are available to answer any specific questions you may have regarding the process.

Winners of the South Australian Engineering Excellence Awards are eligible to enter the National Engineering Excellence Awards.

I strongly encourage you to submit a nomination for the 2008 Engineering Excellence Awards and be recognised as a leader within the engineering profession.

The engineering team looks forward to celebrating with you on the profession’s night of nights.

TICKETS STILL AVAILABLE

Tickets are still available to attend the Engineering Excellence Awards on Saturday 30th August at the Hilton Hotel.

The event is the engineering profession's night of nights, recognising the achievements and contributions made by members of the engineering team to the quality of life and economic prosperity of South Australia. The South Australian Awards Program is comparative to the best anywhere in Australia and culminates in the presentation of the Malcolm Kinnaird Engineering Excellence Award.

The event also recognises the achievement of individual excellence with the South Australian Professional Engineer of the Year and the South Australian Young Professional Engineer of the Year announced.

RECOGNITION

Recognition is given by the awarding of an ENGINEERING EXCELLENCE AWARD. This is the major award for the category. Projects that have achieved high scores but not to the degree as above, may be awarded a COMMENDATION.Winners of a South Australian Engineering Excellence Award are eligible and encouraged to enter the Australian Engineering Excellence Awards in the same year. Winners of South Australian Engineering Excellence Awards will be contacted on how to enter these National Awards.

INDIVIDUAL AWARDS

Entries for the 2008 individual awards are also now open. Nominations can be made on behalf of individuals and self nomination is also welcome. Please see below entry forms for each of the six categories.
